Will you go out with me???

We have had a dating explosion, and I hope this dust never settles. I am a serious nerd and Mark is really going to shake his head when he reads that. I think I forgot how fun it is to go out with Mark. We have slid by for seven months escaping Russ for only a couple hours every other month to go out alone...until recently. We have been so lucky to be able to go on a few real dates in the last month. Dating makes me laugh and smile and giggle and feel crazy and free. When did plans to go to a movie become so dang exciting?

Anyway, what is my point? Go out on dates. What were our lucky occasions? My birthday- the day I anticipate all year, smiling every time I hear the number 23- and some other fortunate events involving baby swaps and great friends. Thanks Bennetts, Claire and mom.

It all began with our Disney day of freedom, which I already told you all about. And, the temple the next day, one of our most refreshing dates.

We had a racquetball night, which I requested for my b-day. I love racquetball and it had been far too long since I smoked Mark on the court. I love family recreation.

Mark also planned a deliciously romantic night for us. We went to a restaurant/lounge in Malibu on the ocean called Moonshadows. The waves were crashing at the base of the restaurant and we sat right at the window looking down at the sea. We tried to dress up all stylish and we tried to pretend we knew what to do with the bowl of warm water and lemons they brought out with our appetizer. It was the most we have ever spent on a meal, but the seafood was especially scrumptious. After dinner we went down to the beach and sat beneath the stars on a blanket next to the ocean.

Last weekend we had a traditional dinner and a movie night. We saw Ghost Town. HILARIOUS!! It was a great movie, which we both loved and recommend. Ricky Gervais is fantastically witty. Afterwards a couple of Mark's friends from work introduced us to BJ's where they make some amazing pizza and pizookies. Pizookies are enormous, soft, warm cookies covered with ice cream. If you live near a BJ's try it!

Now that we are dating again, tell us the fun dates you go on so we can copy you!

I know the real reason you check our blog is for pictures of Russ, but our camera is currently in Utah. It will be here soon and we will put his cute little pudgy face up for you all to look at and tell us how cute he is. Until then...date!

Danny and I went to a haunted corn maze the other day! We like to go hiking. We even went backpacking the other weekend for a date, but I think that would be a little hard with baby Russ!

Our dates have become few and far between within the last six months. Boo hoo! I miss them too! Until then we have been avid daters. We went out once a week. Period. It is such a great thing. Now we need to come up with some better at home dates. Maybe scrabble?

There is something SO refreshing about getting away from the baby with your husband. It's different then just getting out by yourself. I don't know how to explain it but I say yeah for dating!!!!!

We often go and play games with other couples in our ward. Everyone brings snacks to share and it is always fun. It is also good because it is something you can do with or without kiddos!
