Consider this fair warning to any reader who is easily queasified by romance other than your own. Who isn't really? Not me, I seem to be totally fascinated by any and all love stories. Mark teases me because every time we meet someone new I have them spilling sweet details about their courtship within minutes.
We just celebrated our 3rd anniversary. We have been together for 4.5 years. The 4.5 number is debatable by us and any who know us, but the 3 number is certain. The day is well documented with photos and video footage. It occurred in the Las Vegas Temple on May 5th 2006.
Mark and I met October of 2004 at BYU. I met my sister up on campus. She was sitting at a table with three boys, teaching them calculus, and an extra boy sitting back and staring at me. I loved that smile, and I loved the way he didn't say much, but didn't take his eyes off of me.
I could tell he was intrigued with my fiery personality and maybe the hair too. I was intrigued by his cool confidence, humor and dashing looks. He soon found my telephone number through a friend and my sister and asked me out on a date.
Dating began and we were drawn to each other. Neither of us was certain about the seriousness of the relationship, but we wanted to be together playing, cuddling, kissing, laughing, arguing and talking all the time. We filled up all of our spare time with each other.
I won't give you a play by play, but the recurring them in our relationship is: we cannot get enough of each other and we cannot be apart...for too long. Sounds adolescent? I know, but luckily we both bring some maturity to the table.
With all the time spent together it was easy to get to know each other. I found that this man-boy was honest, kind, dedicated, loyal, very funny and more.
So, we fell in love and decided to be married. Luckily the attraction to be together hasn't faded through our three years of marriage. I know this is getting to be too much for anyone to handle, so I'll wrap it up.
Do we drive each other absolutely crazy? Yes. Do we sometime disagree with each other just for the fight? Yes. Do we love each other fiercely and defend each other as well? Absolutely. Mark is a pretty even tempered man, but I have seen him flare up a time or two in my defense.
Do we sometimes laugh so hard together that we cannot stop and fall on the floor? Yup. Do we sometimes cry as we watch our wedding video and hold each other? Maybe... just kidding.
We are under no illusion, and do not expect you to be, that we have a perfect relationship. Ha. But it is wonderful and I cannot imagine life without him or anyone else.
Mark is the kind of guy who sits in the back of class making lots of hysterically funny comments, but saying them so quietly only those very close to him can hear. This is why I am so lucky to sit next to him each week in church.

The following is a smorgasbord of Mark+Bekah=Love

See Russ? How could you miss him? 39 weeks pregnant.
Seconds after Russ was born
By the way, we did celebrate our anniversary. Mark surprised me by taking me on our first overnight date since Russell's debut. We were planning on spending our date night at Disneyland, but Mark had packed and planned for us to also spend the night in a suite in a hotel near the park. I know, now I am just bragging, but I appreciated it very much, and we had a wonderful time.
Happy Anniversary Baby.
