Lovely Las Vegas

I spent a beautiful 10 days at home in Las Vegas this month. It was therapy for my soul. There is something calming and energizing about being home. Mark was there for 6 of the 10 days. I appreciated all the help my parents gave us, especially playing with Russ Russ in the early morning hours, watching both boys while Mark and I were able to make a trip to the temple together, and for us to go on a date. Russell is completely in love with his grandparents. I only wish our camera was not dead the entire trip. My mom also spoiled me with delicious food and love. They are so good to me. One of the highlights was hanging out with my grandma, Russell's "Great Mamas".

Part of the reason the trip was so special is because my two best friends are now living in Las Vegas. I miss them terribly and loved every moment I got to share with them.

15 years ago I moved to Vegas as a little girl with very large dark freckles and a seriously bad perm. I was nervous to start school without a friend. I showed up at church, saw Britt and Maggi, and thought they were seriously cool. I was lucky they were as kind as cool and welcomed my awkward self.
It has been 15 years of friendship that has meant so much to me. We went through some horribly embarrassing moments in life, high school, dating, college roommates, married friends and now motherhood. Hopefully we will someday even experience menopause together:) I don't know what I would do without these girls. We spent some of our time together hiking and camping. And, as always, I have stolen pictures from Britt.
Bekah Maggi Britt

We have multiplied from 3 to 11!
As you can see, Mags and I tagged up the rocks

When I showed this picture to Mark he said, "this is the cutest thing I have ever seen. Please just let me look at it a while longer."

Russ and Em were pretty trashed by this point

For the record; my friends married some pretty awesome men as well (we all found our Utah raised hubbies at good old BYU) and now have some beautiful and delightful babes.

That looks like fun. The other day I told Justin "when you and I go on our 'we finished PhD school' trip in a million years, I think we should take Bekah and Mark so we do fun stuff instead of sitting around doing nothing." And see, I'm right. So plan on a trip to the Mediterranean in a million years. I'm reserving you.
